I wish we had the memory on our phone to record everyone, but we didn't. My husband recorded my speech and acceptance. I do have pictures of each person speaking, but the lighting combined with a phone camera didn't make a great mix. It is captioned since the audio was not professionally recorded.

ABNA speech and acceptance
The following is a recording of my speech at the awards banquet.
I wish we had the memory on our phone to record everyone, but we didn't. My husband recorded my speech and acceptance. I do have pictures of each person speaking, but the lighting combined with a phone camera didn't make a great mix. It is captioned since the audio was not professionally recorded.

I just finished your book and I am so thankful to have read it. I connected to the sister relationship and the relationship with the ocean, the mother-daughter struggle and because of you I may be trying to do "lines" at night with my husband. Again, thank-you and please keep writing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I appreciate you taking a chance on a first-time author. I love picking lines! I promise to keep writing, and hopefully, to write better.
DeleteYou had me in tears by the end too. Not huge crocodile ones, but those that hurt the back of your throat. The kind where you are really feeling somebody else's joy. Congratulations Regina!
ReplyDeleteluvs, aby
PS - I so wish I could see your AND Justin's faces when she called your name.
thank you. That was such an incredible night. I wish you could see our faces, too, but I think I mostly just gasped and covered my face with my hands. I think. It is a blur.
DeleteAHHHHH! I'm so happy for you and you so deserve it. And you looked so cute - love the dress! Many, many congrats!
ReplyDeleteI love that! I felt like I was there in the room with you (and how I wish I could have been!!) Beautiful speech, beautiful woman, beautiful writer. This is so huge, but not quite huge enough for your talent. Keep climbing big sis!! Love, Mace
ReplyDeleteAnd I own one of the first copies of your book! Congratulations, that was all awesome. You have a wonderful family that backs you and supports you...very blessed indeed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the video. Very cool to see those moments. I'm so proud of you and so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love the part about Justin carrying your dreams when they get too heavy for you.
"That was me saying to the world, 'look'" -- Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful speech, Regina. I'm in awe of your talent, humility, and poise. I'm so glad we now get to "look" at your words!
ReplyDeleteI was very moved by your speech, Regina--ditto what Julie Casey wrote!
